Used Computers – Tips and Checklist

by abigale @ 2008-04-22 - 00:16:21

I would like to share my experiences, while purchasing a used computer. I decided to buy a computer, which I wanted to use only for browsing the Internet and to play games on the computer for my kids. Nothing more than browsing and playing was planned using the computer. I went through lot of catalogues, computer shops, online shops etc, I found that I couldn’t afford so much money just for browsing and playing games. The computers sold in retail shops were of very high efficiency, then did I realize of buying a used computer instead of a brand new one. To solve my purpose a computer with a medium efficiency is enough and I came to know from different sites that used computers which were only 6 months to 1 year was also sold, for me it is not necessary to go for a Pentium 4, but then Pentium 2 will solve the purpose. From the articles I found lot of tips on buying used computers, how to check for any malfunctioning etc. One important thing to be taken care while buying used computer is that not to fall prey to buying stolen computers, there are lot of websites like http://www.bestusedcomputers.info which give us more information as how to avoid such items, from the articles I learnt to get the papers related to used computers, checked the computer by working on it before purchase to see its efficiency and also got the licensed Soft wares and warranty papers. Knowledge is power; I used it to gain a lot of money by taking the right decision at the right time.
